·         House of Cards

This is an American political thriller web TV series that is made by Beau Willimon. House of Cards is an adaptation of the 1990 BBC miniseries of the similar name, based on the novel by Michael Dobbs. This TV series is set in Washington, D.C. This series is about Congressman Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina’s 5th congressional district and House Majority Whip. After he was pointed as a Secretary of State, he starts an elaborate plan to get power that is helped by his wife, Claire Underwood (Robin Wright. The theme of the series is ruthless pragmatism, manipulation and also power.

·         Sherlock

Even though it has the familiar structure, Holmes and Watson crack an uncrackable case with a lot of quips and eye rolls. In each episode, viewers will be kept guessing, laughing, and also feeling a little slow for not deducing as fast as the master sleuth. Packed with winks to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original works and the intense fanbase behind it, Sherlock is still successful to manage to tell complex crime stories and breathe new life into the 130-year-old character.

·         Detectorists

It may be easy to write off the premise of 2 grown men who spend the most of their time traipsing across open fields waving metal sticks around as boring. But, all you need to do is to give The Detectorists an episode or two to get hooked. This series centers on Lance (Toby Jones) and Andy (Mackenzie Stone), two detectorists who are proud members of the Danebury Metal Detecting Club when they spend their days digging up rubbish in property of the other people.

·         Black Mirror

In this series, we are given glimpses into the future or near-future where our attention and soul sucking technology has run amuck. Several plots are perhaps more feasible than others but every story is chilling in its own way and it makes you want to shut your computer screen. It is an Outer Limit for the generation of digital that is driven by series creator Charlie Brooker’s strong ideas, ideas which could dissolve hope you have left for the future or humanity in the most amusing way possible.

Those are just some British shows on Netflix. The other British shows that you can watch are The Fall, An Idiot Abroad, Dead Set, Luther, The Inbetweeners, Black Books, Peaky Blinders and many more. Well, which one do you prefer to watch first?
